A Step Ahead of Tomorrow is a five-year strategic plan to create 36,000 new jobs and $4.4 billion in new employee income in Will County between 2006 and 2010.
A Step Ahead of Tomorrow was developed by the Will County Center for Economic Development (CED). The CED was created by the business community as a not-for-profit foundation to attract and retain jobs and induce capital investment in Will County.
A Step Ahead of Tomorrow will add further sophistication to the CED’s nationally acknowledged job attraction and retention skills. It also places great emphasis on branding Will County as the world’s next Global Transportation Center.
Effective job attraction and retention is dependent on many other forces at work in the community, however. A Step Ahead of Tomorrow creates a new community leadership council to identify and confront issues that challenge effective economic development. The leaders will have an annual $400,000 fund available to develop strategies.
The price tag for A Step Ahead of Tomorrow is $7.5 million. Typically, 80% of the funding comes from the private sector with the balancing coming from the public sector.
Janet Scott, Vice President of Investor Relations, is more than happy to acquaint you with A Step Ahead of Tomorrow and explain how you can play a vital role.
